747-400 EICAS (Boeing style)
The
acronym EICAS stands for Engine Indication and Crew Alerting System. This
is the panel from which the pilots call up
specific screens of information about their aircraft. The panel includes
pushbuttons for selecting the wheel pages, door pages, engine and hydraulic
systems, and so forth. The EICAS panel is part of the glareshield, and
is found sandwiched between the MCP and the EFIS selector panels. There
is only one EICAS panel on the glareshield, whereas the EFIS panels are
duplicated, one to control each pilot's NAV Display.
Cockpit
Simulations' reproduction of this panel is designed in plastic, with
engraved lettering, and can be backlit.
The
DATA DISPLAY keys are momentary contact buttons, with two contacts per
switch.
We provide the panel with pushbuttons, but we will also sell you the
plastic panel on its own, if you would like to add your own hardware.
You choose.
We
also produce a custom grey-coloured version,
which some users have requested.
