747-400 EFIS (Boeing style)
The
EFIS (Electronic Flight Instrument System) panel appears on the far left
and right ends of the Boeing 747-400 glareshield. The panels are duplicated,
so each pilot can control what appears on his/her Navigation Display (ND).
The panel contains rotary switches controlling the appearance of the map,
as well as the scale of the map being displayed. This is also the panel
where the pilots set their altimeters to the current barometric pressure,
and enter the Decision Height (DH) for their next approach.
The
CSI Cockpit Simulations version of this panel is manufactured of tough
plastic, with engraved lettering.
The
DH/MDA and BARO IN/HPA knobs are attached to rotary encoders with additional
push-to-make contacts.
The
APP/VOR/MAP/PLN and RANGE knobs are attached to rotary switches.
The
DATA buttons along the bottom are momentary contact buttons, with two
contacts per switch.
As
with all of our plastic panels, this EFIS unit can be backlit with the
simple addition of a few light bulbs behind the panel.
The
panel is sold with toggle switches, rotary switches, rotary encoders
and pushbuttons. We will also sell you the plastic panel on its own,
if you would like to add your own hardware. You choose.
We
also produce a custom grey-coloured version,
which some users have requested.
