IN HIGH MOUNTAINS

Eyes-soled to bite of rocks,
a tall young man stalks
along sky edge
in alpine meadows.

	Words are his target.

Here in high mountains
where carrion birds lift
on dark wings, the music
of fast-flowing streams
quickens his dreams,
yet the tramping of his boots
hushes sound.
