ABOUT THE AUTHOR Mildred A. Rose (nee Pippin), born at Pike Lake, has spent her entire life in Saskatchewan. A graduate of Bedford Road Collegiate, Saskatoon, and the University of Saskatchewan with B.Ed. and M.A. (English) degrees, she has been writing since she was in high school. She has won awards in Saskatchewan, Alberta, Maryland, and Kansas. In June, 1975, she was selected Poet of the Month by the United Amateur Press (U.S.A.). Her poems have appeared in Calliope, Repository, Dragonfly, Saskatchewan Poetry Book, Battersean, FreeLance, Alberta Poetry Book, Salt, Skylark, Driftwood East, Glowing Lanternes, Meanderings, Modern Haiku, Modus Operandi, Tangelo Trails, Janus/Seth Tower by the Sea Anthology, MS/B, and other small magazines. She has had poems read over CBC and at the Globe Theatre Noon Show. She and her husband, both teachers, live in Regina. Their two married sons teach, Donald in Moose Jaw and Bert in Broughton Island, N.W.T. Mrs. Rose has had prose published as well as poems. Esor Derdlim is her first collection of poetry.
