This succulent is very showy in a rock garden. The lime-green leaves in the centre of each rosette are a nice contrast to the red outside leaves. I really like this variety of Sempervivium. It provides colour to the rock garden when most other rock garden plants are long done blooming.
Will slowly spread to form a patch measuring 12" across. Like other Sempervivium, produces a bizarre-looking flower spike with star-shaped blooms in mid-summer.
I'm guessing hardy to zone 3.
Glen's score: 8.
