Salvia nemorosa 'East Friesland'

Dark blue-purple flower spikes in early summer, many flower spikes per plant.  We grow it in partial shade where it flowers and maintains an upright form.

Drought tolerant, is good in hot dry locations.  Aromatic foliage, too.

I 've read several times this plant will rebloom if you cut off the flower spikes immediately after blooming... going to have to try that this year.

I'll probably replace this eventually with S. nemorosa 'May Night' a variety with larger blooms.

Hardy to zone 2.

Grows to approximately18" in height and width.

Glen's score:  6.
