Dark green foliage and bright yellow, double flowers are the attractions of this plant. We have it growing in shade and partial shade, does not like very dry soil.  We treat this as a woodland plant.

Taller, but smaller-flowered version of Globeflower (Trollius).  

Foliage grows about 18" tall, flower stems to 24".  Begins blooming in early June.

Hardy zone 3.
