Magnificent when in bloom, their sky blue flowers are quite beautiful. Blooms appear early summer.
Grows up to 36" tall for us. We have them growing in full shade. Does best in our yard in a cool spot up against the north side of our house. They're growing in a mixture of 100% manure with some peat moss.
Not the easiest perennial to grow. Most plants are monocarpic for us or biennial if you prefer. A few in the absolute coldest part of our yard in summer are perennial.
Hardy to Zone 4-5.
