Little woodland plant with bright pinkish-white blooms in early spring. Begins flowering mid April here in zone 3, the second perennial species to bloom in spring in our garden.
Stems and emerging flowers very hairy, resembling Pulsatilla vulgaris a little bit in that respect. We grow them in a shady spot in rich, humusy soil.
Flowers are about the size of a 25 cent coin.
Hardy zone 4.
Small plant, grows about 6 inches tall and wide.
Glen's score: 7.
