Low-growing plant for the rock garden.  Blooms are a vivid magenta colour, with dark striping and centre. Begins blooming at the end of May.

A very showy plant, which I don't think I've captured all that well in the photos. When this is in bloom, it's the first place your eye is drawn when you look at my rock garden. Seems to be easy to grow; only requirements likely are good drainage and full sun.

Height of 8", spread to 12" in a couple of years.

Hardy zone 4.
