Euphorbia griffithii 'Fireglow'

Beginning to 'glow' in afternoon shade

Interesting combination of light-green leaves and orange stems. In spring (if grown in sun) bracts at the end of each stem turn bright orange.

We first grew this in partial shade but it became very floppy and unattractive. Moved it to full sun and it grew somewhat more upright for us.

Hardy zone 2.

Height is 21" - 27". Spreads by underground shoots will form a large patch, is an aggresive grower.

Glen's score:  6.

1999 update:  This plant is just too big (as in forms too wide a patch) for our garden. Also, some of the stems get pretty floppy and bent, unattractive, as summer rolls on. After growing this for several years, dug the whole thing up and trashed it.  Going to grow E. griffithii 'Great Dixter' instead - is more compact which lessens the above problems.
