Campanula takesimana

Has white/pink, bell-shaped blooms which hang straight down from the plant's stems. Blooms are coloured with pink spots on the inside.  Begins blooming in mid to late June.

Aggressive plant. Spreads by underground stolons, and is a heavy self-seeder.  Do not let this guy go to seed.

Seems to grow best for us in partial shade.

Quite similar to C. punctata.  The leaves on C. takesimana are a little shorter and wider, and at least in our plants, C. takesimana's blooms are more pink coloured, and spotted. C. takesimana is a little less invasive, too.  In order to distinguish between the two, we've always grown one species in the front yard garden, the other in the back garden.

Hardy zone 4.

Height / Spread:  15 inches - 30 inches / as far as you let it!

Glen's score:  6.
