Beautiful plant spring and summer. Red foliage emerges in spring, very attractive in its own right, this gradually changes to green.  Blooms in July are dark red / pink.

If you're only going to grow one Astilbe, my advice is get this one.

Like all Astilbe, plants require shade, rich soil, and good moisture.  Provide all of that and it's a carefree plant.

Hardy zone 3.
