Perennial climbing legume, wide variance in height - from 10 cm on hilltops to 80 cm in moist wood thickets. Flowers are 3 to 9, blue with some red colouration. 8 to 14 ovate leaflets. Vetches have tendrils at their stem tips, which you can see in the photos above.

Took the above photos on a hill top bluff, early-June in the Big Muddy Badlands 200 km south of Regina.
