15 cm ruler for scale

Erect, slender, woodland plant. Three ovate leaves at top of stem, typical leaf measured at 11 cm wide and 11.5 cm long. A single, white flower hangs below the leaves. Flower petals and sepals are rolled upward. Flower size measured to 4 cm in diameter. Plant is glabrous.

Very rare, listed as an S1 by the Saskatchewan Conservation Data Centre. Habitat is rich woods in the extreme eastern edge of the province. Flowers in June.

Height listed in Budd's Flora to 40 cm, we measured plants to 47 cm tall.

Photo taken June 16th in Duck Mountain Provincial Park, and June 24th in the Porcupine Hills, 300 and 400 km north east of our home in Regina, SK.
