


Erect perennial with a somewhat flat topped corymb of small yellow flowers, corymb to 5 cm across, 4 cm high. Leaves and stem are densely hairy. Leaves are entire. Basal leaves are stalked, elliptical in shape, length 12 cm, width 3cm. Stem leaves are stalkless, oval to elliptical, length to 5 cm, width 2 cm. The main stem of this plant is somewhat stiff, giving rise to its common name.
Common to prairies and edges of woodlands.
Above plants grew to 62 cm in height.
Took the above photos August 20th, on the edge of an Aspen wood at White Butte, about 25 km east our home in Regina, SK.
