15 cm ruler for scale

Leaves grassl-ike and borne on either side of the flowering stem, flat in profile. Leaves measrued 10.5 cm long and 2 mm wide. Flowers are blue, with 3 petals and 3 sepals, flower highlighted in above photo measured 17 mm in diameter.

Quite an adaptable plant - have seen this growing in shady moist conditions on the edge of woods, and in very dry, hot, sunny locations in our Grasslands National Park.

Height listed in Budd's Flora to 30 cm. We measured plants to 16 cm tall.

Photos were taken June 5th big Muddy Badlands 175 km SW of Regina, and June 23rd, moist prairie 25 km southeast of our home in Regina, SK.
