





Low plant with succulent foliage. Stem leaves are alternate, clasp the stem, linear, we measured a stem leaf to be 15 mm long and 3 mm wide. Basal leaves are blue green, linear with acute tips, one was measured at 15 mm long and 2 mm wide. Inflorescence is a dense cyme. Flowers bright yellow, measured to 18 mm diameter.
Height of scapes is listed in Budd's Flora to 15 cm, we measured them to 18 mm in height.
Habitat is rocky slopes in the Cypress Upland. Fairly common in that eco region, uncommon for the province, listed as an S3 by the Saskatchewan Conservation Data Centre.
Have grown a couple of seedlings of this plant, They are easy to care for plants in my rock garden.
Took the photos on June 21st and June 30th in the Cypress Hills in Saskatchewan, 450 km southwest of our home in Regina.
