Potentilla tridentata- photos and description

Low growing, spreading growth habit with most leaves basal. Flowers grow in cymes, are white with 5 petals, and the flowers are 13 mm in diameter. Leaves are glossy green, trifoliate, and three toothed. Leaves with petiole measured at 4 cm long and 3 cm wide; 1 leaflet was 21 mm long and 9 mm wide, cuneate.

Bottom of leaves with appresed hairs, leaves with hairy margins, plant stems also hairy.

Habitat is sandy woods in the boreal forest.

We measured plants to 13 cm tall.

Photos taken June 28th in sandy, jack pine woods, south of La Ronge, about 600 km north of our home in Regina, SK.
