Erect plant with stout, stiff stems. White tubular flowers in dense panicles. Flowers measured at 2 cm long, 1.5 cm diameter. Basal leaves linear, one featured in above photo was 6 cm long (including petiole) and 7 mm wide. Stem leaves linear to oblong, opposite, sessile, one shown above was 4 cm long and 7 mm wide. Stems with very fine hairs, leaves glabrous.

Blooms early June.

Height listed in Budd's Flora from 15 to 30 cm. Plant shown in top photo was 19 cm tall.
