Bright yellow flowers, about 25 mm in diameter appear in July from the upper leaf axils. Upright, slender growth habit. Leaves are opposite, oblanceolate, ciliate, blade measured to 7.5 cm long and 3 cm wide. Petioles with long hairs, stems glabrous.

Habitat is moist woods, and marshes. Common.

Height listed in Budd's Flora 30 to 100 cm. We measured plants to 48 cm tall.

The above photos were taken July 1st in a marsh near Hudson Bay, about 400 km northeast of Regina, SK, July 31st in aspen woods, near MacLean, about 50 km east of our home in Regina, SK, and Aug 3 in the Cypress Hills, 450 km W of our home in Regina, SK
