Lychnis drummondii - photos and description

Saskatchewan's Wildflowers

Slender perennial with linear, opposite leaves, and a sticky stem. Flowers are yellowish green in colour, tightly cylindrical in shape, with distinctive green parallel lines.

Habitat is sandy soil, Budd's Flora says open prairie, however we found a patch of the above plants in a small clearing in a mixed spruce - aspen forest.

Flowers late June.

Height to 70 cm, spread 10 cm.
