





Dense spikes of reddish-pink flowers. Flowers are tubular in shape with 5 florets, flowers about 1 cm in diameter. Leaves are linear, typcally 15 cm long and 4 mm wide. Leaf margins sparsely hairy. Leaf surfaces, top and bottom full of tiny depressions.
Growth habit is tufted, with decumbent to erect stems. Quite showy when in bloom, flowers appear in late July to early August.
Habitat is dry grassland and hillsides. Common.
Height variable, listed in the guides from 10 to 30 cm. The above plant was 31 cm tall.
