Humulus lupulus - photos and description

Saskatchewan's Wildflowers

     

Perennial climber, found in moist woods in the parklands and boreal forest. Flowers are greenish-white, in panicles in leaf axils. Leaves are opposite, rough to touch, palmately lobed in 3 - 7 leaflets, we measured them at 12 cm wide and 11 cm in length.

Leaves are palmately lobed, up to seven leaflets.

Photos taken July 30th (in flower) and late August (in fruit) at the Crooked Lake Sanctuary, Qu'Appelle Valley, about 150 km east of our home in Regina, SK
