Helianthus couplandii - photos and description

Saskatchewan's Wildflowers

     

Annual Sunflower plentiful on sandy soils. Distinguishable by hairs growing on scales between the disk florets, visible as the white colouring in photos above. Leaves are rough to touch on both sides.

Height variable 30 cm to 100 cm.

Above photos taken just south of Saskatchewan's Great Sand Hills in mid July.
