






Stout-stemmed plant with a branching growth habit. Flowers yellow, flower heads measured to 4 cm diameter, petal tips having 3 or 4 rounded lobes, petals somewhat reflexed. Bracts reflexed, the reflexed bracts identifies the genus in the Asteraceae family in Budd's Flora. Leaves cauline, lanceolate, entire, alternate, sessile. Leaf highlighted in above photo was 7 cm long and 22 mm wide. Stems, leaf top and bottom pubescent with small hairs.
Habitat is edges of sloughs, streams, and wet meadows in the Prairie and Parkland.
Height listed in Budd's Flora to 70 cm. We measured plants to 53 cm tall.
