Paronychia sessiliflora - photos and description

Saskatchewan's Wildflowers

 

Cushion growth habit with small yellow flowers 4 mm in diameter. Woody stems, plant glabrous. Leaves are short, linear, and spine-tipped, 5 mm long, and overlap up the short stems.

Habitat is dry eroded hillsides. Found fairly common.

Height usually only 2 cm tall.

These photos were taken June 24th slopes of  the Saskatchewan River Valley 250 km west of Regina, SK, June 30th on a steep cliff side in the Qu'Appelle Valley 40 km north of Regina, SK, and July 15th on rocky cliffs in the Cypress Hills, 450 km southwest of our home in Regina, SK.
