




Erect, bushy perennial. Leaves pinnate, to 19 leaflets, leaves measured to 12 cm long. The leaflets are oblong, typically 2.5 cm long amd 4 mm wide. Stems and bottom of leaves sparsely hairy. Flowers pink with red lines, to 12 mm long, the flowers growing in spikes on long stalks, the bottom flowers open first.
This plant is a member of the Legume family, a non-native, was introduced from Europe as a forage crop. Habitat is ditches and field margins.
We measured plants to 90 cm tall.
The above photos were taken July 1st, in a ditch along highway 3, 30 km east of Hudson Bay, about 400 km north east of our home in Regina, SK.
