Looking straight down on plant

An upright perennial with stiff stems. Flowers purple-blue in a terminal cluster and in leaf axils. Typical flower measured at 3.5 cm long. Leaves opposite, entire, lanceolate to ovate, sessile, leaf highlighted above was 53 mm long and 26 mm wide.

Habitat is wet meadows, ditches of east central Saskatchewan.

Very rare, listed as an S1 by the Saskatchewan Conservation Data Centre.

Height listed in Budd's Flora to 80 cm, plant in above photo was 33 cm tall.

Photos taken August 18th on a moist roadside, north of Rocanville, 300 km east of our home in Regina, SK.
