15 cm ruler for scale

Decumbent to erect, woody-based plants. Flowers in racemes, each with 4 petals, opening whitish pink and turning orange red with age. Flowers 1 cm in diameter. Leaves alternate, sessile, upper stems leaves linear, lower ones oblong, some leaves with a few teeth. Leaves to 2 cm long and 5 mm wide.

Leaves and stem pubescent, giving the plant's foliage a greyish green colour.

I measured plants to a height of 30 cm tall.

Habitat is dry prairie and hillsides. Common.

Photos taken June 24th on hillsides in the Qu'Appelle Valley, 30 km north of our home in Regina, SK.
