Tall, erect plant with flat topped panicles of showy pink flowers in flat-topped clusters in August. Leaves usually in whorls of 4, oblanceolate to lanceolate in shape.

Found in moist woods and swamps on the eastern edge of the province.

Height listed in Budd's Flora to 200 cm, we measured plants to 196 cm tall.

Took the above photos August 9th along the banks of the Red Deer River near Hudson Bay 400 km north east of Regina, SK,, and August 20th in a swampy area in heavy forest, Duck Mountain provincial park, about 300 km north-east of our home in Regina, SK.
