15 cm ruler for scale






Low growing plant with a tufted growth habit, leaves all basal, elliptical to spatulate, with petiole the leaves measured to 6.5 cm long and 1 cm wide. Lemon yellow flowers in tight umbels, the umbels measured to 4 cm across. Leaves are hairy, and greyish-green on top, white wooly on the undersides. Scapes hairy.

Commonly found in its habitat of dry hills, valleys, and badlands.

I measured scapes to a height of 18 cm.

Took the above photos June 19th, Buffalo Grass Eco Reserve, 200 km southeast of Regina, and stoney hillside in the Cypress Hills, 450 km south west of our home in Regina, SK.
