Echinacea angustifolia - photos and description

Saskatchewan's Wildflowers



Erect growth habit, stiff hairy stems, large showy flowers with pink reflexed petals, and an orange-red conic central disk. Flowers to 5.5 cm diameter. Leaves are hairy, alternate, lanceolate, 3-nerved. Leaves were measured at 13 cm long, 17 mm wide.

Plants were between 40 and 45 cm tall.

Habitat is hillsides in southeast Saskatchewan. Not common, listed as an S3 by the Saskatchewan Conservation Data Centre.

Photos taken June 19th, and July 21st in southeastern Saskatchewan.
