Chenopodium fremontii - photos and description

Saskatchewan's Wildflowers

Annual plant with a slender growth habit. Taxanomic key to identification among its kin in the Goosefoot family are the leaves which are almost as wide as they are long. Flowers in July.

The field guides say its habitat is bushes and bluffs which is exactly where we found these plants.

Height variable to 60 cm, spread 15 cm.

Above photos taken in Saskatchewan's Great Sand Hills in mid July.
