



Erect perennial with woolly foliage, greyish-green in appearance. Leaves linear lanceolate, I measured them to 9 cm in length and 12 mm wide, woolly undersides. Flowers have disk florets only, no ray florets, the disk florets surrounded by papery, white bracts. Flowers 8 mm across.
Plants to 60 cm tall.
Habitat is listed as open woodlands; I've only seen this plant growing in the Cypress Hills.
Rare, listed as an S2 by the Saskatchewan Conservation Data Centre.
Photos taken July 24th and August 3rd on a roadside in lodgepole pine forest the Cypress Hills, about 450 km southwest of our home in Regina, SK.
