We grow this in sun and in partial shade.
The grass on the left is situated in partial shade, looks good
- diffused light shining
on/thru the red blades of grass is quite attractive.
The grass on the right is located in a sunny site. In more sun, it has much more red colouring.
This plant is very tender to our zone 3 garden. We generally can overwinter it a couple of winter then it disappears, and it's time for a new plant.
Hardy to Zone 5.
Glen's score: 9 of 10.
Note: yellow ornamental grass in foreground in photo on left is Hakonechloa macra 'Aureola'
